At present, along with the raising China's aerospace development level and the expanding of the scale of the aircraft production, it also puts forward higher demands on the aerodynamic shape of aircraft. As an important part of aircraft structure, shape and interior, the quality of sheet metal can directly affect the level of aircraft manufacturing. And the quality of sheet metal forming is closely related to sheet metal forming mold manufacturing. As an important part in aircraft manufacturing, the surface quality, forming accuracy and stability of the sheet metal fabrication that directly affect the level of aircraft manufacturing. 


Considering the current sheet metal forming mold manufacturing, especially concerning to the aircraft shape template and the special angle template for padding, it should mainly use the transition mold to manufacture the sheet metal template. The mold error produced by this technology can be controlled within 0.3mm, and the local can be controlled within 0.5mm the above. However, due to current aircraft manufacturing requirements for aerospace sheet metal forming accuracy, for example: Boeing 747-8 requires the error to be controlled within 0.15mm during the manufacturing process.


Use digital technology to manufacture sheet metal forming molds. Compared with the traditional manufacturing technology, the requirements are more complicated. The specific analysis can be carried out from two aspects: first, the sheet metal forming mold shape manufacturing involves a wide range, not only the digital definition of the part itself, but also the blanking, forming process and the process digital definition. Second, the use of digital technology to manufacture sheet metal forming molds will be affected by the non-uniqueness caused by the nonlinearity in plastic deformation, which will cause differences in process parameters and will affect the quality and level of forming mold manufacturing.
