From plastic trinkets and toys to auto parts, bottles, containers to mobile phone shells, the plastic injection m process has been widely used to manufacture parts and components. In fact, many products used in our daily life are made using this moulding technology. But why do manufacturers prefer this injection moulding technology to make plastic products? The answer is that technology has many benefits.

Ⅰ. About injection moulding

Injection moulding is a moulding method of injection and moulding. The advantages of the injection moulding method are fast production speed, high efficiency, automatic operation, many colors and varieties, simple to complex shapes, large to small sizes, accurate product sizes, easy renewal of products, and it can form parts with complex shapes. Injection moulding is suitable for mass production and moulding processing fields such as products with complex shapes.

Ⅱ. Advantages of plastic injection moulding

1. It is suitable for producing complex and precision products. One of the main advantages of plastic injection moulding technology is that it is easy to design complex plastic precision parts and components. Compared with other technologies, injection moulding will be found to have the characteristics of small tolerance. Therefore, it is also widely used in the production of auto parts.

2. Choose freely from a variety of materials. A large number of plastic materials can be used in plastic injection moulding process. There are materials such as antistatic plastics, thermoplastic rubber, chemical resistant plastics and bio-compostable materials, which have color matching or masterbatch coloring.

3. Automated processes to reduce manufacturing costs. Injection moulding is an automatic process. In fact, most injection moulding processes are carried out using machines and robots. Because automation reduces manufacturing costs, indirect costs are also reduced. In addition, with the reduction of labor force, the total cost of manufacturing products has also decreased.

4. Efficient production mode. Once the injection mold is designed according to the specifications given by the customer and the injection moulding machine is pre-programmed, the actual moulding process for producing parts will become very fast. Therefore, one mold can produce more products. High productivity also makes plastic injection moulding efficient and cost-effective.

5. Produce less waste and be green. For injection moulding, the repeatability coefficient of parts is very high. It is even possible to regrind the sprue and runner (i.e. residual plastic fragments produced by tunnel plastic, from there to the actual mold) for material reuse.

After considering all these advantages, it is easy to understand that plastic injection moulding technology is a very useful and effective process for producing a variety of plastic products.
